Empowering Abilities Announces Leadership Updates to Strengthen Mission and Growth

[DAVENPORT, IOWA] – [February 5, 2025] – Empowering Abilities, a leading nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving independence and inclusion, is proud to announce key leadership updates that will further enhance the organization’s impact and sustainability.
Amber Wood has joined Empowering Abilities as Vice President of Development and Communications. With over two decades of experience in fundraising, marketing, and nonprofit leadership, Wood will oversee strategic partnerships, fundraising initiatives, and communications efforts to advance the organization’s mission. She brings a strong background in relationship-building and community engagement, previously serving in leadership roles at SAL Community Services, OSF HealthCare, and the American Red Cross.
Additionally, Dana Myers has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) after serving in the agency’s Accounting Department for 28 years. In her new role, Myers will lead financial strategy, planning, and compliance, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainable growth for the organization. Her deep knowledge of the agency’s financial operations and commitment to its mission make her an invaluable asset to the leadership team.
Tracy Albers has also been promoted to Controller, bringing over 36 years of dedicated service to Empowering Abilities. Albers has played a critical role in the organization’s financial operations, overseeing budgeting, reporting, and internal controls. In this new position, she will continue to enhance financial processes, ensuring efficiency and accountability in resource management.
